Spinal Tap

I would have this straightened out
Placed in order, sensible:
Books on a shelf in a library
Ordered by author and subject
Meticulous, patterned, simple to explain.
And by reaching out, your hand
Would brush the spines, nondescript
And wrapped in plastic covers
To protect the words inside.
But my arrangement would mean nothing
Because you would stand
And gently rest a random finger
On the only one that held secure
The waning interest in your eyes.

I like it. A little disappointed that it wasn't a poem about the excellent band, though. Keep writing, & keep bloggin' away.

Simple and interesting. I like it.
Take delight and pride in what you wish, don't let others actions deter you from the simple pleasures.
